How Patuza runs your payroll

A complete South African payroll and SARS compliance cycle, handled for you

Outsourced payroll is not just payslips. Every South African employer carries a fixed calendar of statutory obligations across SARS, the UIF, the Compensation Fund and — in many sectors — a bargaining council. Patuza takes ownership of the whole cycle, from capturing inputs to filing the returns, so nothing lands late.

  1. 1Every pay run

    BCEA-compliant payslips

Gross-to-net calculated on the 2026/27 SARS tax tables, with itemised earnings, deductions, employer contributions and leave balances on every payslip.

  2. 2By the 7th monthly

    EMP201 declaration & payment

PAYE, UIF and SDL declared and paid to SARS on eFiling, with a reconciled payroll journal and third-party payment schedule for your bookkeeper.

  3. 3By the 7th monthly

    UIF UI-19 declarations

New engagements, terminations and salary changes declared to the UIF so employees can claim without delays.

  4. 4May & October

    EMP501 reconciliation

Bi-annual employer reconciliation of EMP201s, payments and IRP5/IT3(a) certificates — the submission that most in-house payrolls get penalised for.

  5. 5Annually (by 31 March)

    COIDA return of earnings

Return of earnings submitted to the Compensation Fund and a Letter of Good Standing obtained where your contracts require one.

  6. 6Ongoing

    Bargaining council & fund submissions

MEIBC, MIBCO, BCCEI, SEIFSA and provident/medical schedules prepared and filed against the correct council rates.

Payroll is processed remotely for employers nationwide — see our service areas, the industries we specialise in, or book a consultation.
